Turkey Bread

These happy pictures popped up

On Timehop this morning and gave me a good laugh. This Thanksgiving was in 2020 and we were living in our rental house while our Home was being built.

Days before I went into our local bread shop and I saw that you could order rolls in shape of a Turkey. I thought how clever; the kids will enjoy seeing it, and it will add the perfect addition to my Thanksgiving Table Setting.

I’ve always surprised the kids on Holidays and Birthdays how I decorate the Table. My son Jackson is a good sport because he can tell how much Joy it gives me. My daughters love it.

I told them that Morning I had a special surprise for them once we sat down to eat Thanksgiving lunch. Even Andy my husband was curious. From the picture you can tell the Turkey Bread was front and center with our Feast.

I even had everyone to walk in the dining room with their eyes closed and then I yelled out “Surprise!” Jackson said “Where is the Surprise?” And I said look the rolls are in the shape of a Turkey. Then Andy said “Surprise with a big smile.” Everyone laughed and laughed.

I then realized I was the only one excited about the “Turkey Bread.” Daddy told me one time, “Dawn it doesn’t take a lot to make you Happy.” I know I learned that gracious trait from my Mama. She appreciated Each and Everything. She taught me that Little and Big moments are the same. She was the epitome of Graititude.

The phrase “Turkey Bread” has brought lots of laughter to our Family. It is a great story that my kids will share with their Families.
