My Wedding Gift

Andy and I celebrated 26 years of Marriage on June 6th. My Daddy gave me this Cast Iron Pan for my Wedding gift, just from him. He was very proud . He told me how he treated it with his cast iron barrel homemade grill that his nephew, Terry made for him. He told me how he seasoned it. He told me too after I cooked in it not to use dish soap, but just a paper towel to wipe it out.
When I look at my pan I can smell my Daddy’s perfectly fluffy crispy edged biscuits. I wonder if my Grandmother taught my Daddy to make biscuits. He told me one time “His Mama’s were the best” and my Paw-Paw was spoiled because he got fresh biscuits every day. Keep in mind my Daddy was the oldest of nine children.
What a thoughtful gift my Daddy gave me. Also the red gingham apron with the darling stitched heart pockets was my Mama’s handmade apron.
My parents were quite the pair. My Daddy was strong and devoted just like my cast iron pan. And my Mama was gracious and had the sweetest heart just like her apron.
