Good Morning, as my oldest daughter, Hannah’s Wedding approaches, oh how I wish my parents were here. They would be here for it all. Mama would ooh and aah about all the details her loved granddaughter has thought of. Daddy would be full of Joy and meeting all of Hannah’s and Garret’s Friends and his Family, wanting to host his Famous BBQ Supper in Hannah’s backyard.

God’s nature reminds me that my parents are watching over me and my Family. Mama loved the Smokey Mountains more than anything. Daddy knew that. He took her many times before she got sick.

Mountains are my favorite too. Seeing the peaks, seeing the colors of the trees, seeing the crystal water below, and seeing the many twist and turns of the valley are unexplainable.

I just read that the Mountains are the only place where the Sun is not blocked. The sunrise of the Smokey Mountains are breathtaking. The various colors magnify the smoke from the majestic mountains.  It is a Masterpiece. God is the true artist that creates every perfect detail of beauty.

Daddy’s favorite place was Gulf Shores Beach, Alabama. I went many times growing up. Looking back he was so happy. He would enjoy the early morning walks on the beach with Mama, the smell of the beach, the salty crystal blue ocean, the peaceful sound of the musical waves meeting the shoreline, and he would soak up every beam of the sun.

Since 2014 the Smokey Mountains and Gulf Shores remind me of my parents. The Mountains are where I feel God’s Faithful Love. One of my Mama’s favorite hymns is, How Great Thou Art. Listening to this beautiful song describes how Mama and I feel about the Mountains, in Awe.

Since 2015 Gulf Shores Beach reminds me of Daddy. The continuous gentle breeze gives me Peace. Daddy loved nature. The breeze blew when he was cutting our grass, the breeze blew working in his garden, the breeze blew when he was fishing on one of his friend’s lake, the breeze blew when my parents hosted homemade ice cream church gatherings, the breeze blew when my parents hosted fresh watermelon church gatherings, and the breeze blew when he was sitting on our welcoming front porch rocking in his white rocking chair.

One of his favorite things to do is watch thunderstorms in his white rocking chair on our welcoming front porch. At times I would sit beside him rocking in Granny’s small white rocking chair. Daddy told me his Mama, Granny rocked all of her 9 babies in this chair.

Daddy almost living to be 90 experiencing many breezes and thunderstorms. He too was a storyteller like Mama and me. All I can remember is their stories always had a silver lining and God was given the Glory.

How thankful I am that God ‘s whispers are everyday. Our hearts have to be filled with Jesus ‘s love to feel it. I know in Heaven that there is no darkness, but all light. The verse in Revelations 21: 23-25 says it. The mountains and the breeze are  my Hope for Eternal Light and Peace.
